Education and Work Experience:

Professor Yiwang Chen earned his Bachelor's (1988-1992) and Master's (1992-1995) degrees from Jiangxi Normal University. He then obtained his Ph.D. from Peking University between 1996 and 1999. Following his doctoral studies, he conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Mainz and the University of Marburg in Germany from 1999 to 2003, and subsequently served as a Research Fellow in the Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at the National University of Singapore from 2003 to 2004. His distinguished academic career includes appointments as a Professor and Dean of the School of Chemistry at Nanchang University, Vice President and Deputy Party Secretary of Jiangxi Normal University, and President and Deputy Party Secretary of Gannan Normal University. He currently holds the position of Party Committee Secretary at Gannan Normal University.


Awards and Honors

As the primary recipient, he has been awarded the First Prize of the Jiangxi Province Natural Science Award, the Second Prize of the Ministry of Education Natural Science Award, the Gold Medal at the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva, the First Prize of the Invention Entrepreneurship Award (Innovation Category) by the China Invention Association, the China Industry-University-Research Collaboration Innovation Award, the First Prize of the Technological Invention Award by the Chinese Materials Research Society, one First Prize and three Second Prizes of the Jiangxi Province Teaching Achievement Award, and the Contribution Award for Overseas Chinese Scholars in China. His individual honors include the National Baosteel Outstanding Teacher Award, the Second Jiangxi Province Innovation and Excellence Award, and the recognition as a Model Educator in the Second Jiangxi Province Teaching and Educating Awards. He has also been selected as a "Highly Cited Researcher" in the Clarivate 2024 list.

He is primarily engaged in research focusing on the design and printing/processing of polymer and perovskite flexible solar cells, as well as zinc-ion batteries, sodium-ion batteries, zinc-air batteries, fuel cells, electrocatalytic synthesis, and silicone elastomers and fibers.
