Introduction to Jiangxi Key Laboratory of Work Safety Risk Monitoring, Early Warning and Prevention & Control
The Jiangxi Key Laboratory of Work Safety Risk Monitoring, Early Warning and Prevention & Control is co-established by the Jiangxi Academy of Emergency Management Science and Nanchang University. It is among the first batch of key laboratories in the field of emergency management in Jiangxi Province and the first provincial key laboratory approved by the province's emergency management system.
The Laboratory is anchored in the major scientific and technological needs of work safety risk monitoring, early warning, prevention and control in Jiangxi Province. With the goal of achieving innovation in work safety risk prevention and control technologies and equipment, it focuses on addressing technical challenges such as incomplete multi-source data fusion and low-level intelligent early warning in work safety risk prevention and control across industries including mining, hazardous chemicals, fireworks and firecrackers, industry and trade, and fire protection. Through basic theoretical research and key technology research in risk monitoring, early warning, and prevention & control, the Laboratory aims to take the lead in mastering original and independent intellectual property rights of key core technologies, becoming an innovation talent training base in the field of work safety risk monitoring, early warning, and prevention & control, and an important link for the integration of "government-industry-university-research-application". It strives to become a provincially unique and domestically first-class provincial key laboratory in this field.
Research Directions
Mining and Tailings Pond Safety: Focusing on the characteristics of work safety accidents in mines or tailings ponds, the Laboratory studies the apparent characteristics of work safety risks, reveals their evolution laws, and conducts research on technologies such as open-pit mine slope stability monitoring and early warning, underground mine deep-hole blasting and intelligent ventilation, and key technologies for precise prevention and control of tailings pond dam failure risks. It also develops key technologies and equipment suitable for work safety risk monitoring, early warning, and prevention & control in mines or tailings ponds in Jiangxi Province.
Chemical Industry Safety: Addressing the high work safety risks in the chemical industry, the Laboratory conducts research on the inherent safety of hazardous processes, establishes theoretical evaluation models for reaction risks to provide a theoretical basis for technological reforms of hazardous processes. It improves key monitoring and early warning data in the chemical field, carries out research on intelligent elimination of disaster-causing factors, establishes databases such as Raman spectroscopy and mass spectrometry for hazardous chemicals, conducts traceability analysis of accident causes, and optimizes monitoring and early warning data analysis models to ensure work safety in Jiangxi's chemical industry.
Fireworks and Firecrackers Safety: Targeting issues such as backward production equipment, low intelligence level, and environmental pollution from pyrotechnic formulations in the fireworks and firecrackers industry, the Laboratory conducts research on new environmentally friendly, smokeless, and high-performance formulations and processes for fireworks and firecrackers. It also develops key technologies and equipment for work safety risk accident prevention, monitoring, early warning, and safety & environmental protection in Jiangxi's fireworks and firecrackers field.
Industry and Trade Safety: Focusing on key devices and key parts of industrial and trade enterprises such as dust explosion, steel, and aluminum processing (deep well casting), the Laboratory establishes safety risk classification assessment and early warning methods, develops key technologies for safety risk perception and early warning as well as prevention and control equipment, and constructs an online monitoring, early warning, and prevention & control platform for work safety risks in the industry and trade sector.
Fire Safety: For urban fires under complex environmental conditions, the Laboratory reveals the occurrence and development laws of fires, constructs flame spread prediction models, and develops key technologies and equipment for fire risk assessment, fire prevention, fire fighting, and smart fire protection. For challenges such as precise monitoring, accurate forecasting, and coordinated risk prevention and control of forest fires, it reveals the formation mechanism and combustion laws of high-intensity forest flames, establishes multi-scale and high-precision simulation methods for forest fires, conducts demonstration applications in typical forest areas, and realizes accurate forecasting, all-round monitoring, dynamic prediction, and efficient prevention, control, and fighting of extra-large forest fires.
Laboratory Overview
The Laboratory has 30 fixed members, with Professor Cai Hu as the leader from Nanchang University. It has a Management Committee and an Academic Committee. The Laboratory is equipped with various analytical equipment, including 61 devices valued at over 200,000 yuan each, with a total value exceeding 100 million yuan.
